Since 1919, there have been rare sightings of wolverine in Colorado.  After I moved into an apartment at the base of Old Man Mountain, I was rewarded with a sighting of the elusive wolverine.  In 2009, I was returning home late from an advocate call when I pulled into my driveway. I saw a an animal that I called a cross between a bear and a shaggy dog.  I sat in my car as he stared through the window at me. Life as a Mom… As another day slides into a night of exhaustion, I am reflecting on my 27 years of being a Mom.   Remembering the routine of bedtime, the slight frustration as I say for the tenth time put your bedtime clothes on, pick up your toys, brush your teeth, choose a book to read.  I think my favorite part of the day was when you climbed into my lap or lay your head next to mine to read one of our favorite books.  No matter how hectic the day or how upset we may have gotten, I always

In 2012, I started a journey to publish my first book.  It is a photography book based on encounters I experienced with wild bull elk.   This was a difficult path for me as it was a very personal journey.  All of the artwork touched me in a way I was not sure I would want to share with others.  To feel comfortable with sharing stories I took a job at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, CO.  This historic place is steeped in stories of hauntings and unusual events.  I found my voice here, I enjoyed

I’ve often wondered on the intricacies of the web of life.  How often we ignore or pass over the smallest of cries for help. I whistled before I came to the pasture gate, Rocky’s head immediately popped up, turning to look at me.  He was quite some distance out on the hillside, most of the other horses went on with their grazing.  Rocky watched as I stepped inside the fence, squatting down to  wait for him.  He slowly moved toward me then decided to quicken his pace for his bucket of grain.  When he gets close he lowers his head and pushes it into my stomach, so I scratch his ears then put on his halter.  I love when
